In an effort to combat the spread of the flu, a kiddie league in New York City has banned players giving high-fives at soccer games. The rule comes in the wake of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's decision to declare a statewide public health emergency because of the potentially deadly virus.

The ban was recommended by Dr. Valerie Parkas, who is not only the Manhattan Soccer Club president, but an infectious disease specialist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, reports WCBS-TV.
