A 32-year-old Polish man who wanted to impress his wife by doing some chores accidentally ironed his face when he mistook the appliance for his ringing phone. According to The Herald Sun, Tomas Paczkowski said, "Women are always going on about multi-tasking, so I set up the iron, opened a beer and put the boxing on the telly." However, he admitted, "I got so involved in the boxing that...when the phone rang I picked up the iron by mistake and pressed it to my ear. The pain was incredible."

Paczkowski also gave himself a black eye when he smashed into his bathroom door to try to run cold water over his burned ear.
