Igor Vovkovinskiy has three new pairs of shoes, courtesy of Reebok. Igor, the tallest man in America at 7 feet, 8 1/3 inches tall, has never been able to find shoes that fit his size 24, 10E feet. But on Thursday, Reebok gave him three custom-made pairs of sneakers for free, according to PostBulletin.com.
It was truly a life changing moment for the Rochester, Minnesota resident who exclaimed, "This is the first time in my life that I have a choice in shoes. They look like they come right off the shelf, only better."
Igor told the website, "It feels so good, like I'm walking on pillows or mattresses." Igor moved to Rochester from the Ukraine in 1989 so the world-famous Mayo Clinic could treat a tumor on his pituitary gland that was accelerating his growth. He continues to receive treatments.
The shoe design bears his name, and a Ukrainian national symbol, the Tryzub Cross. Igor had started a website and a Facebook page seeking donations in order for him to get custom shoes. When Reebok learned about his situation, the company offered to create custom-made shoes free of charge.
